The women’s choir Vox novus
The women’s choir Vox novus emerged quite spontaneously and without planning in 2012, when the children’s choir Canzonetta from České Budějovice was setting on a trip to a choral competition in Macedonian Ohrid. Over there, women competed along with the children’s choir under the name Chamber choir of Canzonetta. They were overjoyed with a successful performance (they almost reached a gold level) and naturally decided to continue working together.
During its five-year history, the choir managed to master numerous pieces of choral work by both domestic and foreign composers ranging from renaissance to contemporary compositions. Its participation in both domestic and foreign choral competitions has been appraised mostly at gold level, often as absolute winners.
In December 2016, Vox novus initiated a successful collaboration with South Czech Philharmonic and their next joined performance is planned for May 2018.
Although Vox‘s ensemble has changed considerably during its five-year existence, the most important things remain: the joy of singing, strive for success and many happy moments spent together.
